August 11, 200322 yr A few weeks ago, I installed a sound card so that I could use my gameport yoke with my new computer(which didn't have a gameport port). My yoke now works fine :), but unfortunately the sound card messes up the sound in some games(not FS). :( Is there a way to disable the sound part of the sound card(so, the onboard sound-thing that came w/ my computer would process the sound), that will allow me to still use the gameport port that's attached to my sound card for my yoke? Thx in advance.
August 12, 200322 yr Try entering Device manager, open Sound, video and game controllers, select the sound card, NOT the Gameport, select properties, find the device usage area, click on Disable in this hardware profile. Click Ok, and you will probably have to reboot your computer. Once rebooted, make sure your joystick continues to work and the sound doesn't. If the joystick doesn't work then this may not be the answer.Next, enable your on-board audio, add the drivers, if needed. Check to see if the audio works (make sure you plug your speakers into the on-board speaker output jack), and test that the joystick continues to work.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
