This started to happen to me about 2 weeks ago, I click "Shut Down", the computer logs off, saves setting then shutsdown, the HD works steady for about 10 seoncds, takes a break for about 5 then normally goes for a couple then turns off, well now it just goes for 10 seconds and sits there, nothing happened, I even let it sit there for 10 minutes, I tried a system restore, that didnt help, I havent updated anything, or installed any new software or drivers, When I turn the computer on the next day it is fine on boot up, no errors or anything, but it still won't shutdown, the only time it will is if you don't log on, but that sorta is impossible, anyone with anyhelp would be appreciated.EDIT: I have all Windows Updates to Date.

Hi Kurt,have you tried changing your login options in Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel/User Accounts? Some programs create their own accounts, maybe that could be the problem.
