Ti4600 Fan Dead

Featured Replies

On my PNY Ti4600, the fan has went ahead and died an early death. My question(after much g00gling) is this: Where can I find replacement fans for my card? And, where can I find directions for removing and installing a new fan? Thanks a bunch :-hah

Fred,If it's the type thats pinned in place than just take a look at Neweeg or anyother quality retailer. There has got to be about 20 different replacements for your card.If it's epoxied in place, wrap the card in a few layers of paper towels and stick it in the freezer for about a half hour. Take it out and with a small screwdriver, GENTLY "POP" the original HSF off the card. Let it airdry and either purchase a 2 pin mount HSF or use 4 small drops of crazy glue and some thermal compound. Best way would be to use thermal epoxy but it is kind of exspensive.Compusa actually sells a pretty nice direct fit replacement for around $15. Made by Thermaltake, all copper, 2 pin mount, pretty nice.Or you could get silly like I did and replace the Original HSF with an old PII HS and a 40MM Sunon. That card would take a 120Mhz OC on the core, 100% stable.:-sae Check Newegg, gaurantee you'll find something there.Good LuckBobby

Thanks Bobby, I will go check out newegg right now.

I have two older cards from VisionTek were the fans failed. I contacted them and they sent me two fans and instructions for replacement, free of charge.I would check with the card vendor before spending $$.W. Sieffert
