Geforce4 MX440 in FS2k4

Featured Replies

Hi guys,What do you think of this card for FS2004? My friend bought this card and is having jerkiness when flying in FS even after turning down the settings.Anyone have a solution? Thanks.Russell

Generally, this card wasn't very good for fs2002, much less, fs2004. If cash was a limitation, then purchasing one of the GeForce 4Ti Series, i.e., 4200, 4600, 4800 with a 128MB of RAM would have been a better choice. If cash wasn't a limitation the FX Series, 5600, 5800, 5900 would have been a better choice.W. Sieffert

I currenty own a Geforce 4 MX440, and have never had any problems with it,here are some some screenshots taken using it in a system with the following spec:2.0 ghz Pentium 4 Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 512 MB Ram 60 GB Hard Drive As you can see it isnt the most powerful of systems and nothing compared to my gaming rigThis is with most of the settings on full in flight sim 2004 with the Real Air Simulations SF.260 (FS2004 version) and the UK2000 scenery. I get frames between 10 and 15 constantly, which look smooth.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49854.jpgThis is with the same settings, but in the evening, the aircraft is from flightsim.com. I get similar frames, but a little towards the highter end.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49857.jpgYou can see from the screenshots that the card can perform if it is coded in properly. If you need more informationon how to do this, please contact me via e-mail at [email protected] thing to note is that the DTX9 water textures are not compatible with this card.Hope this helps you
