Need ATI CD To Install Vidio Card?

Featured Replies

Hello all, I lost my install cd for my ATI 9700 128 pro DDR vidio card. I downloaded the latest driver from ati, but cannot seem to enable AGP or fast writes. My bios is set up for these items, but I have no agp texture acceleration button under dxdiag, also under smart gart, I cannot enable. I am running win-xp pro, ASUS A7N8x deluxe with latest bios. I tried cycling the settings under dxdiag with no luck. Thank's for any imput!

If the DXDIAG AGP is grayed out, you probably need to reinstall the MOBO Controller Chip drivers in your case the NForce 2. ASUS indicates they have a later driver at their site but I think NVIDIA now has a later driver.W. Sieffert

I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but no, you shouldn't need the original CD that came with the card. A couple months ago I installed a new A7N8X motherboard, reformatted, and reinstalled XP from scratch. I just installed the latest Catalyst driver and control panel from the ATI website, and my 9500 Pro is working fine.

Thankyou! That did the trick. I cannot believe the amount of work and step's required to get my computer back to where it was, after reformatting:(
