Crash to desktop when switched to create a flight screen...

Featured Replies

...or when I load a saved flight. I just upgraded my system from an Athlon 2100+ to a new MB and Athlon 2800+. I am still using the same ATI Radeon 9500 Pro and SoundBlaster Audigy. I reinstalled windows and all drivers (newest versions available). I reinstalled FS9 and started it up. Everything went fine but as soon as I switched to create a flight it crashed to desktop. Same thing happens if I try to load a flight. I don't know what's going on. Everything worked before the upgrade. Also other games work fine as does 3Dmark03. Anybody know of any issues with a 2800+ and FS9 or have an idea what might be going on? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks,Chris

Oh...The MB is an ASUS A7v600

Did you also install updated MOBO controller chip drivers? Have you visited Microsoft Windows Update site and installed latest Service Packs and DirectX9.0b?W. Sieffert

Yep...Done all that...All latest drivers...Via 4in1, ATI Catalyist, Audigy drivers, Sp1, all critical updates, all other updates, etc. Everything else works fine, just not FS9. It crashes everytime.

Well there doesn't seem to be much help from anybody here but I have read on viaarena of a lot of problems with this MB. So I'm taking it back and exchanging it for the ASUS NFORCE2 Deluxe board. It's about $40 more. Hopefully that will clear up my problems.

Well I switched to the ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe MB and Flight Sim works again. Yea!! Plus this MB is pretty cool :)
