April 17, 200422 yr Hi Ben,Are you using onboard sound? Do the stutters disappear with sound turned off? I also have an nForce2 motherboard, and although the onboard sound chip is very good, I did have some problems with it.Another thing that can affect performance is unsynchronized RAM/CPU FSB speed - try to run both at 333MHz. As to low fps with FS9, this is most lkely a software problem. Have you tried running FS after a selective startup? If that improves performance, then one of the background processes is causing the performance hit. It could also be a bad Windows installation - when I bought a new HD, I installed XP, all hardware drivers, and then FS. Although Windows started up very fast and gave no indication of any problems, FS would only run at dismal frame rates, something like 5-8fps (on an XP3000+, Asus A7N8X, 1GB RAM, 9700Pro). So I did a repair install of Windows, and suddenly FS was running smooth as silk - with all drivers and settings exactly the same as before.Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
