In my window tool options, I have gone to tools>folder options>view and checked "Remember each folder's view settings". Some time back if I remember correctly, this had pretty much of a permanent effect.In the window options for the view, the default selection for looking at folders is "Icons". The choices are Thumbnails, tiles, Icons, List and Details. I have checked "List". Again, in the distant past, this view setting was remembered for some time if I remember correctly.For some reason now, my view shortly defaults back to the "Icon" view.
