Audio codec problem

Featured Replies

Under Window Media Player tools menu, select player tab, and ensure the automatic updates is selected and the download codecs automatically is enabled. If WMP cannot find a suitable codec, then you will have to search the internet for the codec.Beware some codecs could have viruses.W. Sieffert

If it's not already on your CD or system waiting for you to install (or REinstall) have a look here:http://www.moviecodec.com/filetypes/Observe standard precautions with downloads..EDIT: Ooooops, you want AUDIO codecs.. sorry.I'm going to leave the link for movie codecs though, might come in handy for someone, sometime 8-)Here's a page for some audio codecs:http://www.moviecodec.com/downloads/audiocodecs.htmlAnd another site for both:http://www.free-codecs.com/

If everything else works correctly, then why reinstall Windows. If you want to remove or reinstall Windows Media Player, do so under Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, deselect Windows Media Player, OK.If you reinstall WMP, make sure you download all the updates again.W. >....These are also wavsHmmm, I'm getting lost now :-) ( not unusual though.. :-( )No .wav files play on your system ?Does a ".WAV" file playback require a CODEC ?Not up to speed on this at the moment,(I dig in only when I have problems) but something from past sound problems makes this come to mind...Seems like only the compressed files (.???) that had TONS of ATC speech etc. needed CODEC decompression.Thinking outloud here... might be way off base.

Check the MSFS Forum, Tips and Tricks Sub-forum, search for Lost ATC, No ATC, Lost Voices, etc. You should find my Compressed Audio Codec tip.W. Sieffert
