I'll start here, Joystick problems

Featured Replies

Hi, Turned on Flight sim.09 and could not get joystick to function. I check to enable it, but can't. I un-install to re-install but I keep getting message " sidewinder needs usb port in order to install". I never had this problem before. I did not remove anything related to usb ports or anything. I am using sidewinder 2 from microsoft and using windows me. My computer is sony vaio and I have plenty of resources. I check but I don't see anything related to usb ports. I don't know what has happened. Also my Lexmark printer is having communicaion problems and won't print. Does anyone know what problem could be? Thank you much, S.

Does the Landmark printer connect to the USB port? If so, you may have a corrupted USB port driver or a failure of the USB port hardware.I would open Device Manager, select the USB Hub(s), select properties, select each of the tabs, especially the Power tab and see if it is showing your joystick and/or printer.Next select the Universal Host Controller, select properties, select each of the tabs, and review the information. You can also select the troubleshooting button to see if you can correct the problem. If the USB Hub(s) are missing from Device Manager, try adding new equipment under Control Panel, Add Hareware menu. Also install the MOBO USB drivers for your USB ports.Lastly, open BIOS and make sure you haven't turned off the USB ports by mistake.W.
