June 29, 200421 yr I posed this question/theory on another board, but it has yet to get an answer - The short question is:Will a 256MB video card, versus a 128MB of the same type, perform better when it comes to blurry ground textures. :)My thought is yes, it would, due to the increased space allocated for textures. With more room, the texture could remain in video card memory for use in teh sim, thus improving the blurry-loading in of textures.I recently installed FSGenesis's US Landclass, and found my textures went from loading in snappy to dragging and blurring. This was probably due to the increased number of textures onscreen at any one time. I've tweaked and adjusted my fs9.cfg file to death, but I still can't get it back to the way it was- it's better, but not where I'd like it to be. I'm wondering if a new piece of hardware will improve my situation! :) Shoot me down or back me up, but just give me a straight answer!-Greg
June 29, 200421 yr Moving up to 256 of GPU memory might help... if you have the GPU to use it. One of the new gen cards (X800 or 6800) could make a difference. I wouldn't count on it though. Before taking a severe hit in the wallet you might try rebuilding your FS9.cfg. Move your existing copy to a safe place (to back it up) and then go into the sim to make a flight. The sim will come up in it's default state, so you'll have to set everything again. Once done with your short flight exit the sim and you'll have your new FS9.cfg.You might also try resetting your VC drivers to their default setting and then tweaking up to your satisfaction.Hope this helps,Greg
