July 21, 200421 yr "... and that AGP texture acceleration is "unavailable"..."You need to re-install your chipset drivers. And it probably wouldn't hurt to throw in DirectX as well.If you have XP (Home or Pro) you can convert a FAT32 drive to NTFS easily enough. Info here: http://aumha.org/win5/a/ntfscvt.phpHope this helps,Greg
July 21, 200421 yr If your just noticing that your file system is FAT, then we know you didn't install windows yourself (presuming that you're using winXP....?).Can't offer any more advice without knowing how skilled you are with a command line interface (if you wish to convert FAT to NTFS without 3rd party software).I would be trying a lot more than converting file systems right now (start with your FS9 settings) then get used to tweaking Windows & running through the basics first (like drivers & global settings). If you haven't got much invested in the installation (you mentioned "recent") then wipe it out & reformat the right way.I fail to understand the "real" reasons why anyone would even conceive FAT on an upgraded (or new) system with the hardware you have. It certainly can't be because you're using the same hard drive as before (unless you're using the same motherboard as well). Lastly, talk with those who built your computer or offered you advice.
July 21, 200421 yr As Greg indicated, install or reinstall your MOBO controller chip drivers, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi, NForce.FAT32 or NTFS won't make any difference in FPS to any noticeable degree. Most of the simulation is in your computer's RAM. The only time the disk is accessed is during scenery updates as you fly and disk swap file addressing.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
July 21, 200421 yr "or should I download the most recent drivers from ASUS on the internet???"That would be best. They should install like any other program... easy to do. And reinstall DirectX after the chipset drivers are safely onboard.Greg
