October 21, 200421 yr Hi Guy's,and Greg, well, this is getting extremely confusing now, I've just got off the phone with one of my mates who had an expert there with him,so my mate put him on the phone to me, well, apparently some of the disconnects from S/Box, and some of the occasional blue screens/lock-ups can be attributed to Norton Internet Security 2004, which has Norton Anti virus 2004 built into it, well apparently it's very very heavy on the system resources, and that I would be better off going over to McAfee instead, not the small free or trial ware, but the full program payware version for complete security, well most of my time is spent web browsing, then playing Joint Opps, and of course FS9, along with AVC, S/Box for VATSIM etc,so, what I was wondering is what do you guy's think.I would be very grateful to hear you're views on this as I'm confused now, and don't know which one to use,and weather or not to get rid of NIS for McAfee.but, of course I still want complete protection if there is such a thing.thanks, appreciate any comments at all guy's.Steve.
October 21, 200421 yr Forget Norton, forget McAfee, go get the FREE AVG anti-virus, it works well, doesnt screw up anything, uses hardly any resources and did I mention, FREE!
October 22, 200421 yr Hi. I was using Norton antivirus etc, but it began to cause my entire system to run slower and slower. I removed it and installed AVG's free edition and McAfee firewall plus (free with AOL broadband). Performance has been great and would recommend AVG.Regards Adam:-beerchug Adam Swift i7 2600k @ 4.4GHz // ASRock Z68 Professional Gen3 // G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB 1600 // Evga GTX970 SC // Corsair 600TCorsair HX750w psu // Corsair H60 cooler // Corsair Crucial 250GB SSD // WD VelociRaptor 450GB // Windows 7 64bit
