Dual Core Pentiums

Hi All, I see the dual core pentiums are starting ship. Do you think FS9 would run any better on them as opposed to a single core chip at the same speed (core and FSB)? I've seen in other posts that the HT technology does not seem to have much affect on FS9, should I expect the same from dual core?ThanksSteve

Hi Steve and Michael, AFAIK, only a mixed reply is possible. Yes, if you parallely run other programs (i.e. a permanent virus scan is going on in the background). No for FS alone. FS9 isn't multithreaded and the clock speeds are lower to prevent those things from going up in smoke! There was an interesting article/initial test @ theregister.co.uk the other day. The program has to be written for dual core processor,guess we'll see when FS10 comes out but I wouldn't bet on it. Its like years back when the dual CPU thing was around for a short while. Very expensive and did nothing for main stream computer users unless a specific program was written to take advantage of having dual processors on the mobo. There might have been a few but it never caught on.David
