Help - Major Hardware Problem!

Upon the starting my computer, my cdrw drive and dvd drive isn't recognized anymore. I get this error message:Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)The registry fix suggested on the windows database didn't help either, neither did unistalling the devices. Any ideas? It all worked fine until I installed then uninstalled Apples itunes software. #### apple computers. ricardo

I personally used System Restore on the XP machine I fixed with this problem Just picked a date before I tunes was installed. the other option is in the registry.I know you said you tried the registry but I would double check those keys as those number strings are big.To resolve this behavior, follow these steps: Start Registry Editor (regedit).Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetContro lClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetContro lClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.Good Luck Allen
