Guys.I'm retiered and no longer able to do woodworking so, Fly Sim (FS9) has become almost full time hobby. I have to get a better computer and I've been offered the above as the major components for the new system.I would like to know: 1) Your opinion on the above; 2) What would be better, and 3) What would be the best system.N.B.: I would like to have your opinion without the $$$ consideration. Thanks a lot.Jean-Guy

Hi Jean-Guy,You may want to take a look at my post here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=11262&page=My general opinion on your proposed system is that I wouldn't go with Intel. AMD wins hands-down in all gaming situations. On graphics card, if you're spending that much money on the X850XT, I'd get NVIDIA's 7800GTX instead (or at least the 7800GT). And finally, with your power supply, 600W sounds okay but I have never heard of OKIA. I would go with a better brand name such as PC Power & Cooling, Zalman, OCZ, Antec, Enermax etc.Hope this helps.Edwin

Thanks guys for your messages but keep sending your opinions; It is much appraciated and it will help me to reply to my technician-supplier: he is a very good technician and has been helping me for a few years but, to his own admittance, not a specialist in gaming. So, we are both waiting for your support. Sorry for the not so good English, but I'm French-Canadian.Wow! what a nice experiance to hear from you.Jean-Guy

Hi Jean I agree with what has been said previously, steer well clear of Intel, go for AMD 64! ( I also say the same regarding ATi from bitter experience, the image quality is not half as good as Nvidia)Ive just upgraded to an Nvidia 7800 GTX ...Fantastic Card, I've gone for a 550 watt supply, super charged cooling fans and 78.03 Nvidia drivers guru3d.com. Super quality, very smooth, very very little stuttering for appearing scenery!, only a small increase in FPS though with evrything maxed out at 1600 x 1200 x 32.BTW I cannot over emphasize the importance of some good fans ( 4 in my system!)Best Wishes,Chris

Thanks a lot, Chris, Your opinion is very important for me.Thanks for your helpJean-Guy
