Error When Trying To Run Flightsim 2004

Featured Replies

Hi guy's,I have been using flightsim for years and about 2 months ago I had a huge hard drive crash on my new PC.So I re-formatted my PC and reinstalled windows (XP Pro)and then installed flightsim and the various apps and utilities I use with it, (Ultimate Traffic) with non-standard high quality repaints and others. But now when I go to run flightsim I get the following error (see inclosed picture)I really don't think it's a memory or HDD issue as I am using 1024 mb Corsair Ram and have 2 x 200GB SATA drives running Raid.Just wondering if anyone else has come accross this type of problem in the past.I am just trying to follow a process of elimination now and uninstall add-ons to see if I can find the cause.Regards,Ralf.

Dear Ralf,I can understand the frustration and hope you have the situation resolved soon. I don't have any concrete advice but if I were you, I'd uninstall everything (and delete the FS9 directory) and install from scratch, making sure to start FS9 once before installing each add-on. I wonder if the order in which add-ons are installed also makes a difference. For example, if you install a pre-FS9.1 add-on after installing the FS9.1 patch, it may result in an error. In other words, I'd do the following:1) Install FS9, start FS9 to generate the scenery indices and to make sure things are alright2) Install FS9.1 patch, start FS93) Install latest FSUIPC (latest release: 3.50, latest beta: 3.505), start FS94) Install each add-on in turn - make sure no add-on overwrites your FSUIPC. If in doubt, install the latest FSUIPC again5) Start FS after each add-on installationGood luck!Edwin

Hi Edwin,Thankyou very much for the info. What you have suggested is what I am actually in the process of doing now (including reformatting my FS9 partition).I am fairly hopeful that this "should" resolve these issues (if not the I will wipe my system as I live for flightsim) ;-)I will post a reply with my outcome.Thankyou for your time.Regards,RalfAdelaide Australia (YPAD)
