  1. Awesome pictures mate! Regards, Rafael...
  2. Hello Tom, You don't know me but I have been using your amazing web site since the late 90's here in Adelaide, Australia. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a member of this amazing knowledge base where I have downloaded many files and read many topics to help me with my passion of flightsimming along the years. I have a family member and close friend who are going through cancer at the moment and whilst I understand that there is nothing I can say to make you feel better, I trust that you will let god guide you in whatever flight-path he has you cleared for. This is not the end but the beginning! God bless you Tom. Regards, Rafael..
  3. Happy Birthday Avsim. Excellent resource full of wonderful people. :Applause:
  4. Thanks Tom and rwat, Will give your advice a go and get back to you. Cheers, Ralf..
  5. G'day all, I have recently had to build another PC due to motherboard failure and started from scratch as most of my data was lost. I have finished setting up FS2004 but notice that my ground scenery is being drawn too late. I have tried different graphic cards, Ram and tweaking with bios settings to no avail. My system specs are as follows:- AMD Phenon 940 black edition 8 Gb Ram 2 x ATI HD 7770 OC edition (non crossfire) Windows 7 64-Bit REX overdrive FS Global 2010 When flying (or taxiing) the dynamic scenery such as ground vehicles, taxiway and runway signs are drawn way too late. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated including recommended ATI Graphic settings and FS9 configs. Regards, Ralf...

  8. Hi mate, Any error messages displayed on the screen when the crash occurs? Are you using anything other than default AI?? Have you tried deleting your fs9.cfg file and getting FS to rebuild it during startup? Regards, Ralf..
  9. Great work Tom! Good to see you're back (where have you been) I will give her a test tonight or tomorrow if I get a chance (I once flew this magnificent machine from Lagos - Heathrow - Hong kong - and on to Sydney!
  10. Why don't you consider a 27"? I have been fortunate to have had one of these for a few years now and it's absolutely awesome (looking at getting another 2) ;-)
  11. Nice work!I liked the theme you were trying to present and could feel the excitement in your music.;-)
  12. Vista Oz creams any of the payware packages by far.
  13. Awesome tribute Ed.I have been on PPrune for a number of years and the enjoyable thing is that it's full of many characters like 411a.These guys are the reason why many of us have such a great passion for aviation!Regards,Rafael..
  14. Hi Greg,Good to hear that it all went well.Regards,Ralf..
  15. Hi,Sounds like you have two options here.1.) Reinstall "Sim Track" and then uninstall it hoping that it removes all registry entries.2.) Use "regedit" to scan your registry for any entries that still may have "Sim Track" (**WARNING THAT I SUGGEST YOU "BACKUP" YOUR REGISTRY FIRST AND DON'T ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING**)Hope this helps,Regards,Ralf..
  16. Hi mate,I am having these problems at the moment also and it's not happening all the time.First things, first (what brand is the graphics-card)?Have you tried using a tool to ensure that "old" drivers have been successfully removed? (if not give that a go). Also try using the graphic card settings rather that FS9 (make sure "Use Application Settings" isn't selected in your graphic card settings).Let me know how you get on.Regards,Ralf...
  17. >>Hi mate,>>>>I also have an 4870 (Sapphire)>>>>Can you please advise of the settings you're using for>>flightsim ??>>>>I am getting some "shimmering" that is happening from time>to>>time even though I am not changing my settings...(i.e. I>start>>flightsim and everything looks fine and then when I start it>>again I might get some shimmering).>>>>Regards,>>>>Ralf... >>>Try using FSAA and Trilinear settings within FSX, and 4x FSAA>and 16X AF in the video card settings. Thanks mate....I will give it a try.
  18. >Man Ive been fighting with settings,4870, and still have not>found a combination that fixes the aa/af.>AA/af MUST be on in game or I get NOTHING.>My saving grace is the 1900 plus res I run.>Otherwise it would look like crap.>Seems no matter what I do, I really cannot see any difference>and after a while I just gave up and let "application control">everything.>However, lowering the mipmap detai level does help.Do not lower>to much or your vc details will begin to blur.>Also fooling with your lcds sharpness level has helped my>shimmers.>Overall though, its just a matter of finding setting you can>live with and just accept that FSX is what it is.>Chasing that perfect screen will drive you crazy.>And plz, no screenshots showing me how perfect yours looks.>I want to see a high def video.>Movement is what caused me all the wiggles and jaggies.>Pause it and it looks great.>Hey buddy,Thanks very much for your reply.I am running a 27" Samsung as my main screen along with a 19" Benq for my FSNAV.I have seen some crisp, clear screens with no shimmering, but it seems to be a little hit-and-miss.Tonight I plan on updating my bios as Sapphire has released a new one. Will let you know how I get along.Cheers,Ralf...
  19. WOW !!!Doesn't anyone else have one of these cards??Any help would be appreciated.
  20. Hi guys,I recently purchased a Sapphire 4870 for FS2004 and seem to be getting some intermittent shimmering (i.e. when I start a session of FS2004 things might look nice and sharp and clear with no shimmering and then in the next session for some reason the shimmering might start)This is confusing as I am not changing my card settings. If anyone could provide their Catalyst Control Center settings and FS2004 settings, I can then compare and have a play with it.Thanks for your help.Kind Regards,Ralf.....
  21. Hi mate,I also have an 4870 (Sapphire)Can you please advise of the settings you're using for flightsim ??I am getting some "shimmering" that is happening from time to time even though I am not changing my settings...(i.e. I start flightsim and everything looks fine and then when I start it again I might get some shimmering).Regards,Ralf...
  22. Hi mate,Your options sound rather good, however I would recommend that you get a bigger power supply (just in case you want to add another video card later)Cheers,Ralf.....
  23. >LOL, the only one I see speculating is you. You give us list>of games that you

I have been lucky enough to be allowed by the "Minister Of Finance" (Wife) to get myself a new screen for flightsim.I purchased a Samsung 275T here in Oz and I am running FS2004 @ 1920x1200 32bit.I too have a slightly stretched panel in normal view which I can live with, but it's worth it for the view I get in Virtual Cockpit! With a 19" and now 27" all I need is one more 19" and a "Triple Head To Go" and I am set !Long live this awesome hobby!!!!!Regards,Ralf...
