October 4, 200817 yr Hi guys,I recently purchased a Sapphire 4870 for FS2004 and seem to be getting some intermittent shimmering (i.e. when I start a session of FS2004 things might look nice and sharp and clear with no shimmering and then in the next session for some reason the shimmering might start)This is confusing as I am not changing my card settings. If anyone could provide their Catalyst Control Center settings and FS2004 settings, I can then compare and have a play with it.Thanks for your help.Kind Regards,Ralf..... October 6, 200817 yr Man Ive been fighting with settings,4870, and still have not found a combination that fixes the aa/af.AA/af MUST be on in game or I get NOTHING.My saving grace is the 1900 plus res I run.Otherwise it would look like crap.Seems no matter what I do, I really cannot see any difference and after a while I just gave up and let "application control" everything. However, lowering the mipmap detai level does help.Do not lower to much or your vc details will begin to blur. Also fooling with your lcds sharpness level has helped my shimmers.Overall though, its just a matter of finding setting you can live with and just accept that FSX is what it is.Chasing that perfect screen will drive you crazy. And plz, no screenshots showing me how perfect yours looks.I want to see a high def video.Movement is what caused me all the wiggles and jaggies.Pause it and it looks great.
