December 9, 200520 yr Hello everyone,Since this last weekend my PC (MEDION 1704/windows xp home edition/ IE ) has critically decrease Its memory usage. Im not sure whats the deal If I dont have any other programs open and It gives you that feeling like when Im browsing and listening to music and the music just trembles out of track or in other words the music sounds like Im listening from a scratch CD which Im not. Now, I remember uninstalling Mcafee firewall and the Microsoft spyware remover, after all that things have make this pc a living #### for ous users here at home. I check on the windows Task Manager and the perfomace is still low like If I had lots of running programs in my background and also I check the Processes screen and there seemed to be some running .exe's but they are SYSTEM types,I tried reinstalling Mcafee firewall but I cant, I need to uninstall Mcafee anti virus but the anti virus freezes when I command to uninstall it.So what Im thinking is that this Mcafee program is still running in the background but I cant erase it! I need advise on what to do cause I want my pc back to normal, I used to listen to music and browse and work on projects with different program at the same time and now I cant.any info Im missing or you need to know?I feel like a little kid who doesnt know anything about PC's.thanx
December 9, 200520 yr Try sorting task manager processes by CPU percentage. That should give you some clues as to what is hogging the processor time.Try uninstalling or installing your antivirus software in safe mode. My Freeware Sceneries
December 9, 200520 yr I tried uninstalling it on safe mode, but the process freezes. Now my Task Manager shows up incomplete!
December 9, 200520 yr It's unusual for something to hang in safe mode. It sounds like something you'll need to get with McAfee on. My Freeware Sceneries
