January 15, 200620 yr Hi everyone,I had to do a recovery a couple weeks ago, and re-install all of fs and the addons. I'm getting a new system in a week, but I still wanna fly in the interim, but I'm having problems.I have a 2.5g celeron with 750mb ram, Realtek ALC202A stock sound card, and geforce 5500fx.When I reinstalled fs...3 times in all, I got an error message saying it couldn't detect a sound card. I checked the drivers, updated the drivers, reverted to the originals with no luck. Now, I do have sound, but it pops ticks and stutters (almost like it's singing to the beat of my HD). I changed all of the options in my directx settings under sound hardware accelleration, and same with all different sound options in fs. Does anyone know a fix for this, because it's killing my framerates. Everytime fs loads something in-flight, and the hard drive lights up, the sim pops and and sticks. When I hit 'q' to mute, it runs smooth. What do u think is causing this issue. Secondly, I have an gefforce 5500fx...what would be the best driver version for it? There are TONS to choose from. This isn't all that important, because I'm getting a new system in 10 days, but whatever I can do to make it minimally enjoyable until then would be appreciated.
January 16, 200620 yr I assume you reinstalled your OS. It still sounds like you are missing drivers for your motherboard. Did you reinstall any motherboard controller chip drivers, e.g., Intel, VIA, AMD, ALi, SiS, NForce? If not, try installing them and see if you system improves.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
