Question about CH pedals

Featured Replies

I use the CH Products Pro Pedals and have been having a chronic problem with any aircraft I am flying drifting to the left. This also occurs when taxiing (makes it very difficult to maintain center line). In fact, when I replay a flight and use an external view, the nosewheel is cocked to the left as the aircraft taxis. I am not using any software(drivers)with the pedals or control yoke. If I try to calibrate the pedals, the "bar" clearly shows the drift to the left.I have tried to get help from CH Products but they won't talk to me without showing them some proof of purchase which I don't have (lost during move to new house).BTW, I have been a flightsimmer for approx. 7 years and prior to getting the CH pedals I had analogue pedals that worked fine. The CH pedals worked well initially but have been giving me this consistant problem for a number of months. This is my first post on AVSIM Forums and I would really appreciate any help that any of my fellow flight simmers could offer.Sid

Hi,Two things to try straight off: First, check the calibration of the pedals through the windows control panel and then immediately re-boot and look there again to see if the settings are still good. Next check that the null-zone in the sim is not set too small - I have mine at about 5% so that I can rest my feet on the pedals without getting control input when I don't want any!Hope it works for you!Geoff

Geoff,Thank you so much for your reply and for your very helpful suggestions. By increasing the null zone considerably and working with the sensitivities settings I am now able to more easily stay in the center of the runway and not have the aircraft zooming off the left side of the runway (even with the torque and P factors set to zero).I still think there is something mechanically screwed up with the pedals but I'm not sure I want to open them up and try to tinker with them. In any case, thanks in large part to your suggestions, they are working 200% better. Now if only there was some way to increase the friction in the pedals hmmmmmm.....?!?!?!?Regards,Sid
