May 12, 200620 yr Guys:I'd like a recommendation on upgrading my video card. My current performance is not bad but I'd like to be able to run some of the more frame-intensive panels.Thanks.Current:ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB AGPThanks.Pete in KORD
May 13, 200620 yr Few things you need to consider, do I really want to upgrade to another NOW?.. Is my current card still good enough for 6 +/- months?. Reason why im saying this, for one AGP cards are getting harder to get, with that said, you could get a nice 7800AGP for your setup now. FSX will run on DX9 for existing cards..but in the end fsx will run optimized using DX10 and thus require a compatible card. Sofar none exist. (at least as far as the news stands today). Maybe you should consider, hanging on to that 9800 which isnt a bad card at all, old yes but certainly still capable of running avarage panels. Maybe better to wait and save so you can do a very nice upgrade towards or after the release of fsx.. Just my 2 cents. again,, you could go for a nice 7800 AGP now.. Choice is yours ;)

May 20, 200620 yr Hi,Go get a Gainward 7800GS+ AGp card like me !It is a in fact a hybrid card which uses a 7800 Gs chipset as a base icw a 7900 Gt chipset !That is : instead of the 16 pipelines all fasr AGP cards have this one has 24 pipelines !It is as fas as a PxiExpress 7900 GT card. And it has 512 DDR memory. All compagnies stepped to quick over to PciE.Ofcoarse the PciE slot can transfer data much faster than the Agp slot ; BUT only the 7900 Gtx chipset is capable of using some of the faster data transfer form the PciE slot.http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=605542 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
