September 11, 200619 yr Upgraded my Motherboard and CPU this week to be able to cope better with FSX. Have a look and tell me what you think?Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi X16AMD X2 4800+ (Socket 939)GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel2 Geforce 256MB 9800GT, Sli configured.Creative Soundblaster Xtreme with 7.1 speakers.19" Samsung Moniter.I also use alot of addon scenery, so how do you think my framerates will be within FSX???By the way i have a AMD 4000+ CPU with Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi Motherboard going spare if anyone would like to purchase it.
September 12, 200619 yr Well even some highend systems like a X2 4800, the fsxdemo alone seems to be bringing some of them to their knees. I guess you would get ok performance, but that is merely a guess based on thinking that the retail version is not like the demo (logical thinking/hoping it will). Nobody has fsx retail so its very hard at this time to say what runs good since nobody is able to compare their systems, and about your GPU, i assume your will replace them when FSX hit the streets?.On the side, even as the AMD supporter thats ive always been, why didnt you just overclock that 4000 and saved your money for like a Conroe e6300/6400? With slight overclock they'll beat that X2 4800 (even my x2 3800 OC beats it) plus they are cheaper, just my thoughts since FSX yet again is a CPU hungry animal.I too might be defecting to C2D when FSX is released seeing the latest performance benches on Anandtech.
September 12, 200619 yr Hi ,just for some info about CPU performance in FS2004, found this...http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2014654,00.aspRegards.Miquel Egea.
September 12, 200619 yr Hi Miquel, good link though in his case its not entirely going to be acurate since its based on the AM2 socket and DDR2. He's running DDR and 939 socket.
September 12, 200619 yr Well, a bit older, but try this one:http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1876787,00.aspRegards.Miquel Egea.
