Sliders All The Way To The Right With This Configuration?....................................................................................................................................

Featured Replies

Yea, you can do all sliders all the way to the right. The question is, what kind of FPS are you expecting and also, are you going to use airport and aircraft addons, like Heathrow or Level-D.Short answer, for normal 25-30fps, no, in any case.

Hi George,I'm running pretty equal to that of their 5k model. I must say I can run FSX at resonable high settings an still maintain reasonable performance, however still NOT even full sliders. While most things run fine, some things even with this config can bring it to its knees....., so unless that one houses some kind of miracle inside, I'd suspect it to do one heck of a job, but again, I really doubt that even that can run FSX full whilst also maintaining good performance.Who knows, maybe someone who actually bought it or is intending to can report differently.

Thanks to both of you for your responses. It's amazing the resources that FSX consumes. I thought that maybe with an 'extreme gaming' computer everything could be maxed-out but as I read more it seems that this will not happen!I found the following article at: http://anandtech.com/systems/showdoc.aspx?i=3115It is focused on the HP Blackbird 002: they discuss the configuration, do some shopping for similar components and compare prices, discuss production, and account for trade-off in cost and time when building your own comp and many other things; well written and easy to read.-George

Your system cant max FSx?! I think i mite just give FSx a total miss, go and buy an 8800GTS to go with my AMD 3800 and wait on FS11 then upgrade!IAn

Well I have no problem running it on Global-high, just not Ultra High....so...High looks very nice already, and i get smooth performance all round, with most add ons right now. So upgrading now is fine... Im just saying i cant run max, meaning on Ultra i loose performance.. just havent figured out as to what yet.. havent tweaked much or flown for that matter. To give it a total miss isn't a good idea because you do miss out on a nice sim. One thing to keep in mind SP2 is coming so i would suspect that would give me and others running Quad+DX10 a nice much needed boost.

Ciao,I use fs9 also with full sliders on the right...But If I get " rain" fs9 isnt's smooth anymore...ONLY if I get "rain" weather...as this got to do with textures or settings on FS or ASV6?Frame rate descend from 29/30 to 16/20...ThanxINTEL Q6600 CORE 2 QUAD 3.00Ghz 8Mb DI CACHE - FSB 1066MhzAli 630W supersilentM.BOARD ASUS S775 P5K + gigalan Intel P35Front side bus 1333 Mhz 8800 GTX 760MbRAM 2Gb DDR2 833Mhz in dual channelHARD DISK MAXTOR DIAMOND 10 160Gb SATA2 3.00Gb/secSony 19" 4/3 non wide 1280x1024Acer 17" 1280x1024XP Pro 32 BitFS2004nHancer 2.3.1NVidia Drivers 163.74 Beta737 and 747 PMDG777 and 757 PSSLevel-D 767ASV6Italy pack
