System Crash/Raid Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi there,I recently had a major crash and had to reinstall everything. Now that everything is back in order I realized that my HD's are not in Raid0 anymore and my WinXP home (sp2) doesn't see both HD's anymore. The bios does, but not WinXP.I also have a larger HD for backup, which it normally detects. My question is, can I (without loosing data) use the second Raptor as a "regular" HD in addition to the other 2 HD's I have? And if so, it used to be setup as a Raid0 config, yet I haven't touched the inside of my PC period. Do I have to unplug any cables between the two Raptors to do so?Please excuse my ignorance, but this is my first Raid system (should have stayed with basic stuff for the older guys ;-) ) and I would rather not go back to Raid as it caused the first crash to begin with.Long story short, I'd like an option with the least chance of data loss and preferable no cable rewiring etc. with my currently available hardware.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifGIGABYTE Light 3D Galaxy II Liquid CoolingENERMAX Galaxy EGA850EWL ATX 850W Power SupplyNVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel MoboCore 2 Duo E6700 1066MHz FSB 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775CORSAIR XMS2 2GB SDRAM DDR2 800GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI ExpressSBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.12 x Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA Raid01 Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/sWinXP Home SP2CH Yoke/Pedals
