October 7, 200223 yr hi to all u rotorheads I am just starting to learn to fly the choppers in fs2002 this evening and i am totally frustrated, perplexed, etc, etc, etc. I simply cannot get the thing to land without crashing. can the real thing possibly be this hard to fly??? can it be flown with just using the keyboard or are pedals a must? I would appreciate any and all helpful tips on how to properly land this thing because right now i am about ready to give up!! P.S. which are the best add-on choppers for fs2002??
October 7, 200223 yr Hey Bro, don't give up, for some it just comes easier than others! Go check out this site, Cal is a GOD when it comes to helos and you can learn quite a bit from his site http://members.shaw.ca/hoversafe/Hoversafe.htm I can land a helo better than a fixed wing! LOL Any questions you have post'em here and we will do our best to help you out!Start off slow and work your way up, my personal favs are the the AS365 Dauphin, Bell 47, the A109 Demo, and the AS350, all these are represented well in FS. Although there is a new (NON GMAX) Bell 407 that I have beta tested that is sweet and coming along nicely!Regards, Michael :( Best, Michael KDFW
October 7, 200223 yr I feel for ya...... I can't land the choppers either (90% of the time).Definitely check out the HoverSafe website that Mike mentioned. Even if you don't follow the lessons, you can get some good tips from their site. If you don't have pedals, I'd suggest you get some.I enjoy the default Bell, Antti's Dauphin (although I don't recommend practicing with it.... it's too easy to fly); the Hughes 500D; and there is a nice GMAX Bell 222 w/retractable gear that's good. There are lots of wonderful choppers for FS2K2..... it's a matter of personal preference as to which one(s) will become your favorites. -Lindy :-rotor (still in training)
