May 25, 200323 yr Hey guys (and girls) just got the new EC-130 (thanks Alun!), very nice! If you are expecting the Dauphin 2 you might be dissapointed, but this thing is a good, straightforward heli, just no fancy cockpits, more a get in and go kinda bird. You can get it at Hovercontrol in the d/l section, under top picks!Regards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.comhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/11904.jpg Best, Michael KDFW
May 25, 200323 yr Well, drat... you beat me to it, Mike! LOL But at least I can tell 'em it's here in the Avsim Library now. A lovely, stable, easy to fly helo that looks terrific. (I happen to really like this 'rainbow' livery it comes in.) Even the default Bell 206 sounds aren't all that bad. Go get it rotorheads... you've got a holiday weekend to play with it. ;-)-Lindy :-rotor :-wave
May 25, 200323 yr Yes, what an outstanding contribution by Antti Pankkonen this is! The rainbow livery is straight off the Eurocopter site.I agree Lindy, it's a pleasure to fly. Mike's picture is also stunning. The R22 has also made a nice Beta debut and I salute its designer. It's a great start and it flies well. Color me happy!
May 25, 200323 yr Hey Michael! In your original post, you thanked me... whilst this is very much appreciated, I'd like to point out that I only spread the word, and beta tested this wonderful heli, as you pointed out in your last post, this helicopter is the work of Antti Pankkonen. If you were indeed thanking me, well, you're welcome! although I suspect it might have been a typo?Catch you all over at hovercontrol!CheersAlun
May 25, 200323 yr Oh man that is on fine looking helo, can somebody tell why Eurocopter's birds always look so damn good? :-hahNick :-abduct
May 25, 200323 yr Nick, there's one more stunning Eurocopter to be modeled: the newest Dauphin, the EC-155b!Why do Eurocopters birds look so damn good?My US$0.02:In France, as politically rocky as that relationship may be at the moment, there is apparently an undeniably artistic ethic in France--one that lets form follow function but without the dollar as the principal dictating designer. France has given us the beautiful Eurocopters, the awesome limousine-like Gazelle, the brute-force Puma, the equally beautiful TGV trains and I'm sure I've overlooked some.I simply cannot and will not fault the sculptors responsible for these most appealing and wonderful works. The photos are all of the yet un-modeled EC-155B and she is the most gorgeous of them all.All this from a proud American Veteran of the United States Navy but whose "eye" for beautiful machinery cannot be clouded by politics.
May 25, 200323 yr Author Hey Alun, guess I worded it wrong, I was thanking you for the heads up that it was out, sorry. I did realise it was Antti that designed it, just giving credit where it was due. Heard a rumor that the EC-155 has a possibilty of being worked on from someone, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmI agree, THAT would be a sweet ride!Regards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
May 25, 200323 yr No apologies needed, I just didn't want to appear to be stealing Anttis thunder... and you're welcome, I shall try to keep you informed on, um...any other... err... helis that I might hear about in the future *CoughEC155Cough* ;-)CheersAlunOh, and apologies to you too.. I got the 2 Mikes' mixed up a wee bit!
May 25, 200323 yr Well, so far I'm really very happy with the 130. I can even hover it!!! At least better than any other helo I've flown so far. :-) I put the sound folder from the 135 in it and it sounds great. The helo looks great, handles great.... very well done. :-jumpy -Lindy :-rotor :-wave
May 25, 200323 yr I will take those CoughEC155CoughWheeze(s) to mean there may be a glimmer of hope that some honorable person is eying that chopper with gmax on the brain. If so, this is an unrestrained "WHOOPEE!"The Dauphin, Gazelle, and the just-released and wonderful EC130. What an awesome collection already! It's a rotorhead luxury Christmas! :-)
