Has anyone gotten this to work in FS9? I got it at hovercontrol but the textures will not appear (the helio is white and the VR is trashed). The install will not allow one to select the location of FS (or even the version!). Therefore I had to copy the entire installation over to my actual FS9 directory.Any ideas??

Mike,I know this doesn't answer your question, but have you tried the Bell 407 in Fly! II (I recommend a patch available in Avsim's file library). You can actually follow almost all the procedures and checklists as in the real aircraft.Take care,Alejandro AmigorenaAthlon XP 1800ABIT KR7A-RAID768Mb RAMMSI GeForce4 Ti4600 8xAGP 128MBSB Audigy GamerCH Flight Yoke USBCH Pro Pedals USBhttp://home.earthlink.net/~finsdad/FlyII/p..._aamigorena.jpg

I've also downloaded the bell 407. I did the same thing as you (intstalled to the default selection then copied the files over to my fs9 directory) and on my computer the textures load fine. Unfortunatly the engine does not work properly: it immediatly shuts down and I can't get it to start again. :-( The strength of the turbulence is directly proportional to the temperature of your coffee.

Well, I got it to work with no problems in both FS2K2 and FS9, using the same install method everyone has to use (I think the installer was configured incorrectly, since it doesn't allow you to choose a location other than it's default). I know that doesn't help you, so here goes:Have you tried expanding the .cab files into directories and using that instead of the compressed .cab files? (IE take panel.cab and converting it into a panel directory)I think the reason the engine shuts down is the the fuel pump is off. If you turn it on, it should work fine.Brian(yes, the real reason for this post is to keep from being purged from the Avsim forum system, since you have to now POST instead of just logging in.)

Move the collective up slightly (just off of bottoming out) and the engine will gradually pick up speed. Once it gets into the green arc, you can use the full range of the collective. There are quite a few helicopters that require this technique when starting in FS9.There is a FS9 update/new version available at www.hovercontrol.com, also - I don't know if you are using this version yet or not. Look in File Downloads - Top Picks. There are a couple new versions as well.Briansorry for the flippant answer before - I didn't think about what techniques I was using to fly it.
