January 24, 200422 yr There is a new Dauphin in the FS2004 Helicopter file area on Saturday morning. I downloaded it, thinking that it might have tweaks to make the autopilot work, but no such luck. This version has the same FS2002-only autopilot and non-animated rotor blades in the VC - i.e. just as advertised, it's a repaint only.I sure hope Antti (or someone) finds the time to update the aicraft and panel gauge so that it works like it did in FS2002. I miss it.Dave Blevins System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack
January 24, 200422 yr Yes, I must admit to being a little disapointed by this. It's freeware so I'll not bash it, and Antti's Dauphin is still second to none... but I can't help thinking that it should have been listed under the FS2002 section.Chris
January 25, 200422 yr Hello DaveI tried to mail you through the Avsim system, but I'm not sure if you got it. If you are interested, please mail me at this adress, just remove the n in broadpark. [email protected] careJan http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/jan.jpg
January 26, 200422 yr Dave, fit the easy_hap.zip that's available in the library. OK, it doesn't give you a full authority AP, but it does for me until Antti updates the Dauphin.BestsMB
January 27, 200422 yr Author Yah, I've downloaded that but haven't installed/played around with it yet. Does it use any aspect of the FS autopilot, or is it "stand alone"? I ask because I have a GoFlight autopilot module and it would be cool if I can use it to control the EasyHap. If it doesn't use stock FS a/p code then I'm SOL.thanks,dB.>Dave, fit the easy_hap.zip that's available in the library. >OK, it doesn't give you a full authority AP, but it does for>me until Antti updates the Dauphin.>>Bests>MB System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack
January 27, 200422 yr Hi Dave, basically, it's a cut-down version of Antti's autopilot in the Dauphin. (it's by Antti as well). Although I'm not familiar with the GoFlight autopilot, I would imagine that if the original Dauphin AP worked with it, then you should get at least some functionality.Give it a go, only takes 2 mins to fit.Let us know how you get on.BestsMartin
January 27, 200422 yr Author I am 99.9% sure that it won't work, as Antti's Dauphin autopilot applet is essentially a customized, automated joystick controller (which is why you have to disable the joystick in FS2002 when flying the Dauphin, so that he can intercept the joystick axes coming from Windows, implement his SAS and autopilot functions, and then send that on to the Dauphin flight model). He provided keystroke controls for the Dauphin autopilot, but as of yet the GoFlight MCP can only control the standard FS autopilot functions - i.e. it cannot (yet) be programmed to generate keystrokes.Theoretically that is in the works by GF though.cheers,dB.
