May 12, 200224 yr Hi,I'm looking for the company that uses KTULXAMD as AFTN adress. Perhaps there is a list of all these adresses somewhere? Thanks a lot!Peter
May 12, 200224 yr Hi Peter,The key to understanding these 8 letter addresses is to break them down into their component parts. The first four letters are the location identifier, in this case KTUL - TulsaThe next three letters are the agency designator. These can be ATC, NOTAM Office, MET Office or, as in this example, the airline designator as used in their telegraphy callsign. In this case, XAM - AMR SERVICES CORP (DALLAS, TX). A good encode / decode site can be found here. The eighth letter is an office designator. For example, E - Engineering, F - Flight Planning, H - Catering, etc. I'm afraid I can't tell you off the top of my head what 'D' is, but if you really need to know, you can find it in ICAO Doc 8585.So, the originator in the example was AMR Services at Tulsa.Rgds,Fig.
