February 17, 200323 yr Does anyone have a plan for this afternoons Britannia 757 Glasgow to Las Palmas and return this evening? Would the interested to know the real routing.Alternatively, just a generic route both ways would be great. Thanks.
February 17, 200323 yr I don't have the real world route, but I made a generic route which is valid :)BAL179A EGPF-GCLP B752/MN0441F350 DCS UA25 BHD UA29 SALCO UM30 QPR UN866 KONBABAL179B GCLP-EGPF B752/MN0470F340 KONBA UN866 KORUL/N0455F360 UT7 LND UP620 DUB P600 TRNregards,Jasper :-wave
February 18, 200323 yr Can't remember the full route but GLA-Canary Islands flights route through oceanic airspace to Northern Spain/Portugal.EGPF-TRN SID-TRN UP600 CRK LASNO T9 BEGAS STG & then the rest of the route.Avoids delays over Southern England/France and reduces the flight time.Route is reversed on the way back. Most aircraft operating these routes are 757's that are full ETOPS.Mark
February 18, 200323 yr Thanks for the info guys.No need for ETOPS though on GLA-DUB-CRK-STG-Canaries though. Just because it's in Oceanic airspace doesn't mean ETOPS is required. The aircraft would stay within 60 minutes of an airfield across the whole of that route.Certainly A320s / A321s of British Charter airlines won't have ETOPS approval as it costs too much money in certification / increased maintenance, though they operate the Canary flights on the same routes.
February 18, 200323 yr Meant MNPS approved - a requirement for entry into Oceanic airspace. Not every a/c & or airline has this approval.Certainly the majority of UK airlines have it.Mark
