February 24, 200323 yr I am curious to know if anybody here uses www.pmflightplanner.com ???If so, I have some questions, however they are not functionality or support questions. I have questions on how YOU use it, personally. In other words, I want to know how it helps you and/or your VA.-----------Wilson HinesChief CaptainBush Logistics Corp.http://heavylhc.comAOL IM: dal276wh
February 24, 200323 yr May I suggest going to the Pmflightplanner discussion board and asking this question. There, you know that all the people use pmflightplanner and will save you asking the question "I am curious to know if anybody here uses www.pmflightplanner.com ???" and you will get peronsal opinions too :)Cheers[br][/img]
February 24, 200323 yr Hello OBK,Well, I did post on their a question and dude, the traffic in that forum must be very low, nobody answers much of anything on there, from what I can see.I asked here, because I wanted an opinion from people "outside the box", so to speak. I hope you can understand.OBK, if I remember right, you are the guy who turned me on to it. How do you use it?-----------Wilson HinesChief CaptainBush Logistics Corp.http://heavylhc.comAOL IM: dal276wh
February 24, 200323 yr ok I give in!LOL, I don't know what you mean by "how do I use it" but I basically use it...like it's supposed to be used lol! Most of the time I use the ATS route insert as I have all the routes I tend to fly in a spreadsheet. However, every so often, I'll us the autorouting to "fill in" gaps of routes that are out of date and then check them with the Euro-Flow website to make sure they're valid.Thats about it!Cheers[br][/img]
February 24, 200323 yr THX OBK,Now, when you first put me on this PMFP site, I thought it was too complicated, quite frankly the problem was I didn't have the time to really sit down and learn it. I too only use the ATS insert because I have built a fairly complex database I call "Preferred Route" that keeps up with my routes. I have a developer friend who is gradually working towards releasing this publicly with it's own runtime so people don't have to use MS Access to get it to work. I have tried the AutoRouting option and that just doesn't work worth a flip. Curretnly I am on a KLAX-KATL in a 742 VMAX bird. When I let it do the autoroute, it came up at 2,256 nm or so and my route is only 1,789 or so. So, guess which one I used. Overall, I have fallen in love with this system. I have a friend who flies for UPS Virtual and I sent him a flight plan with the UPS theme. He is one who requires utmost realism in flight. His philosphy is "If the real captain of the aircraft I want to fly doesn't use "XXXX" (insert whatever flt planning or cheating tool) then I won't use it. He is very realistic in his approach (He owns a subscription to Jeppsen's planning service). I sent him the briefing packet for KLAX-YSSY off of my VA routes (http://heavylhc.com). He told me today, "Where have I been so long. This website is awesome." He is also on staff with UPSV, so they can look to start getting info like thus in the short future from him and PMFP.Here is my biggest delima (as you may have seen on the PMFP forums): I thought for sure that as a Dispatcher, I could load my VA's schedule/routes up on the PMFP system and pilots in my VA could log into their own account and go get those VA specific flt plans. Am I missing something? Is this option available? Is it coming in Version 3?Any insite would be worth a million dollars, but the most I can pay is for lunch in the pull-up window! ROFLOL!Thanks-----------Wilson HinesChief CaptainBush Logistics Corp.http://heavylhc.comAOL IM: dal276wh
February 24, 200323 yr PMFP3 is basically going to be a rendition of a real dispatch internet based program as far as I am aware. All you have to do is look at the feature list and you see there are a lot of new exciting things to look forward too! I only know as much as you though my friend.Enjoy your future planning :)Cheers[br][/img]
