June 10, 200322 yr Hi,The best way to get flightplans within the USA is using a flight tracker (e.g. www.fboweb.com, $9.95/month).KSFO-PANC B744/H TTL_EET/0414N0487F350 SFO8 SFO DCT RBL J126 OED J501 TOU J523 YZP TR19 FRIED J804R MDO YESKA2Regards,Koen
June 11, 200322 yr Hi Koen,I keep wanting to try this fboweb site, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I take it that it's advisable to have DSL or other high-speed connection, right? Right now all I have available is a 56Kmodem (slo-mo). How does one find the flight they're seeking or are interested in? Do you have to watch the flight in its entirety or is there an info system that provides the filed fp as one watches the flight progress? Does this site also provide the fp's of aircraft arriving to or leaving from the US, or is it only for within-US flights? (which might rule out flights to/from Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean)BTW, the SFO-ANC fp you provided, what company is that with? Do you recall?Sorry to keep you so busy with my questions. Thanks!Dalat
June 11, 200322 yr Hi Dalat,With FBOweb, you can search on callsign (flightplans of less then two days old), and on aircraft type, destination and origin when the aircraft is in flight.> Do you have to watch the flight in its entirety or is there an> info system that provides the filed fp as one watches the flight> progress? There is an info system that provides the filed flightplan, but only within a time range of
June 11, 200322 yr Thanks, Koen! It's nice to know there's a way to get US flights and not just fp's that go in/out of the European area. Too bad there isn't something like this for SE Asia, Africa or S. America! My wife thinks that since I spend so much time/interest on this kind of thing, that I should get training and become a dispatcher, hah (actually, I'm seriously considering a career change...hmmmm, now there's a thought :-) )Cheers,DalatKEUG
