February 24, 200422 yr Friends,From PDX to SEA the plate (if I'm reading it correctly) calls for a north landing to cross BTG at FL120. Yet after T/O, I'm finding it nearly unachievable to reach 12000 ft., crossing BTG. Thanks for your help with this.John R. Franklin
February 25, 200422 yr Hi John,Sun Country uses FL220 as cruise altitude with the Boeing 737-800. After takeoff they will probably fly runway heading for some while, after being vectored back to BTG. In the meanwhile they'll climb FL220...I think usually Seattle Center doesn't really need to have the aircraft crossing BTG at 12000 ft, because the aircraft has at least 100 miles to go to the airport from BTG. Although I'm not 100% sure, I guess the ATC will let them cruise at FL220 for a while, to descent somewhere halfway between BTG and OLM. :)Cheers,http://home.planet.nl/~duijn181/cu2/koen.jpg
