Hey, thanks! What is the source that all of the information you have displayed came from? Also, for example, you said one of the flight plans was: FLL./.PHK..DBN.SINCA3.ATL/1735. I'm not used to seeing plans in that particular format so could you put that plan into simpler terms just so I can see?Rgds,Brandon Glass

FLL./.PHK..DBN.SINCA3.ATL/1735translates into:KFLL PHK DBN SINCA3.KATL(SINCA3 is the STAR)the ./. usually indicates that the flightplan has been changed or abbreviated, with any waypoints the aircraft has already passed being deleted as they are no longer needed. The /1735 at the end indicates the estimated arrival time. For example, on this flightplan, from Dubai to New York:OMDB./.YQB132007..ALB.J37.ATHOS.V123.TRESA.V157.IGN.IGN7.JFK/0000 The first waypoint appears as 'YQB', or Quebec City in Canada. It is obvious the part of this flightplan no longer needed has been deleted - Quebec City is over 6,400 miles from the departure airport!

hey, but the plan FLL./.PHK..DBN.SINCA3.ATL/1735 failed to show the jetways because how am I to know if the waypoint is via DIRECT TO or via J789(e.x.)?rds!Brandon Glass

Because if it was on J789, it would be included in the plan =)It's direct.

Could you elaborate a little. I'm new to the technical side of aviation (flight plans made using SID/Star's etc) What are SID/Star? What are they in simple terms or what do they stand for?

To make things easier, authorities have formalized procedures for many airfields. A SID is a Standard Instrument Departure and a STAR is a Standard Terminal Arrival Route. It basically tells the pilot what to do after take off and how to get close to the airport. For Instance, the VMR 2A (Mersing Departure) from WSSS (Changi Airport, Singapore) is assigned for northbound departures. In the case of the 2A it is out of rwys 02R/L and it tells the pilot how to climb out, at what altitude to cross what beacon etc.Try finding some charts on a vatsim site which will tell you more ;-)Salina
