Project AI Version 2 Install Question, Please Help

Featured Replies

Greetings,I'm having to reinstall FS2002 and had a question regarding reinstalling Project AI. In the past, I've went through and replaced the airfiles with the version 2 air files manually. Is this still necessary to do, or do the downloads on the web site now contain version 2 already installed? If the ones on the website contain the updated airfiles, I'd much rather save my self some time and download the updated ones. I posted this on their forum as well. Thanks for your help.Sincerely,Hans

I downloaded the base file, opened, and compared the dates. It is still the original file. Therefore, you need to apply the version 2 *.air and aircraft.cfg files manually.I recommend doing it right after installing the base file. That way the correct aircraft.cfg file is amended/added to when you install the airline installers.

W. Sieffert,Thanks for the reply, I'll do as you suggested. This is by far the worst part of reinstalling FS002. I'm not relishing going through and updating the air files again. Then you have go through and make sure the aircraft texture entries in the "flight sim" section match the texture folders too. Oh well, here I go again. Thanks for your help.Sincerely,Hans

On their BB they say that all of the installers are going to be redone by christmas (thats the date they're shooting for anyhow). They will all be updated to v2 airfiles and I guess fix some bugs found in the existing installs.
