Fs 2002 crashes to desktop

Recommended Posts

Guest teetee

hello all, i've got my new machine running with win xp home. fs2k2 pro has crashed to desktop[ not minimised, but gone] after a few minutes of "idling at meigs while doing some joystick settings. using the hat switsh and the "s" key to "look around". i noticed that the drop down box was black with white characters, which is different from my 98se machine. trying to figure why a more capable box won't keep fs running. asusA7V8X 133fsb athalon 1800[ stock @1.53mhx] 7200rpm maxtor 40 gb HDD gainward gf4 440 mx 64mb ddr ram system 256DDR ram. "on-board" sound [for now] this was a "built ot order" machine. nvidia drivers are the latest from 2 days ago. any clues will be appreciated. tt going to fla for 2weeks, so i'll forget everything by the time i get back, tt

Where you flying the pss airbus pro?. If so you need to open the panel.cfg file for the set of a/c and delete the section with the virtual panel in it. It's a fault you can read about in the pss forum topic ID 4803. If you weren't flying this then I'm sorry I don't know.

>hello all, i've got my new machine running with win xp home.If it is happening with all aircraft or often, try this easy fix. If you are starting fs2002 from the desktop from selecting an icon,Right click on the icon, select properties, compatibility, and select win 2000 or win 98me.

Hey TeeTee!Are you by any chance using Roxio's Direct-CD and Easy CD-Creator?This program has a lot of incompatibility issues with XP and causes machines to reboot, lock, restart when trying to shutdown, etc. I was experiencing similar problems as you and after some research at the Microsoft and Roxio's website, I figured that the best thing was to de-install Roxio. After I did this, my machine now shuts down properly and I have not yet experienced lockups anymore. Maybe this is something to look at!Sincerely,Dennis D. Re-read your first post. You may want to delete the fs2002.cfg and resatrt fs2002. It will write a new one.
