September 6, 200817 yr Hi!I haven't seen anybody has posted this, so let me ask: it is possible to obtain flightplans containing specific airways or intersections? The reason for this is that I am interesting in so-called contrail spotting and since I don't own any good camera yet I watch them with my binoculars and I am also much interested in their direction. not to mention their type, etc.The airway I am interested is is UM859/M859, or intersections from e.g. NANIS-BARPI-UMBEK-MONFA and viceversaPerhaps this question seems a little bit crazy, but anyway I would appreciate any advice if it is possible to track a flight in this way?Regards,Ales
September 18, 200817 yr If you get a scanner and find out the local high-sector frequency, you can identify them. I've done this in my backyard as they switch sectors overhead my house, very easy to identify them as they check onto the freq, and then you can confirm with the binoculars by the livery on the underside.Usually AF, BA, and other heavies going to/from Europe and Chicago overhead my location (YYZ). Sometimes DTW.
September 23, 200817 yr Thanks for reply! I have never thought of that, I checked some forums and it appeared the thing can be very handy. I saw an IC-R5, although there are some cheaper such as FR-100...
