Flightplan API?

Featured Replies

Hello guys,New to the forum, but I would like to know if there was any kind of API system that I could use so that I could get a flight plan to get from one airport to another - that actually looks realistic. Thanks,Mark R.

Hi Mark,Whenever I want to build a new flight plan, the first thing I do is go to the RouteFinder website (http://rfinder.asalink.net/free) to obtain my route of flight. RouteFinder is very simple to use, you simply enter your departure and arrival airports, desired flight level and then click on "Find route".Once I have my route I use the EUROCONTROL Flight Plan Assistant (http://www.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/j_cia_public/cia_public/pages/ifpuv-structured.jsf) to input the flight information and verify the route of flight. You will then be presented with your flight plan, in real world format. The system will make you aware of any problems with your flight plan. This method is perfect if you fly online, as you will never get a controller saying that your flight plan is not valid when you call up.I hope you find this information helpful.Sam
