32-Digit Display Regarding to EPIC ISA

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, Since I have already purchased one 32-Digit display module, I realize that I would need more than one in order to have 64 working digits for my B767 cockpit. I have already spend over $1K on cockpit resources and this get my finance upset (oops). And I made a promise that I would save up my money for skiing trip on this coming Christmas. Which means I wouldn't be able to spend anymore money on cockpit resources. So far, I am still working on my project at the digit parts, What I am trying to do is figure out a way to "By Pass" or cut up any digits that isn't in need to use with dowson's piegonholes system. And those lists on bottom indicate the digits has been used, and what need, or will be used. please take a look at it:ALREADY USED:5 Digits- MCP (ALT)5 Digits- MCP (V/S)3 Digits- MCP (HDG)3 Digits- MCP (IAS)______________________Total 16 Digits MCP (5 Digits- NAV1 Active5 Digits- COM1 Active5 Digits- COM2 Active________________________Total 15 Digits on NAV and COMNAV/COM 15 Digits plus MCP 16 Digits equal to 30 digitsWhat's need to use, or will use:5 Digits- NAV2 Active5 Digits- NAV2 Standby5 Digits- Co-Pilot NAV Active5 Digits- Co-Pilot NAV Standby5 Digits- Co-Pilot COM Active5 Digits- Co-Pilot COM Standby4 Digits- Transponder30 digits for NAV1, COM1, COM2, and MCP plus 34 Digits for Co-Pilot Nav active, Co-Pilot Nav Standby, Co-Pilot Com Active, Co-Pilot Com Standby, Nav2 Active, Nav2 Standby, and Transponder equal to 64 digits. Does anyone who experience some cuts using one digit display module with more than 32 digits? if so help me, recommend me, refer me, save with life raft, I m about to drown! = ) I am trying to finish whole cockpit before christmas so I could surprise my parents. Or say, should I still need to buy another module anyway? Let me know

Sadly, there's no way to have a Digit module 'Multiplex' as two. Maybe through some incredible timing mechanisms and a whole bunch of octal tri-state buffers and a few MUX chips, you could, but by that time you'd already have sunk enough money to buy another display card...

Thanks Ray, at least I will try to find a way to get a new Module 'shh' dont tell my financee. $120 isn't bad unless someone sells on E-Bay for cheaper.
