rotary encoders and ABA module...

Featured Replies

Hi!Since I don't have the EPIC rotary module I wanted to ask if it is possible to attach a rotary encoder directly to my ABA module or will I need to build up a special curcuit to make it work correctly. If so, what would be the simplest and fastest solution?thanks in advance, steve

Hi!Ok, sorry I meant the wrong one. It should be the 64BTN module... and here's the description of the ABA module, where you can connect up to 4 64BTN modules...http://www.microcockpit.com/Domicile/vi_bi...n/m_aba_vi.htmlregards,steve

Ok.. I see...In that case I don't think you can. The encoders require 'decoding' of the 2-phase signal before they can used in such a scenario.I currently offer these decoders on www.avsim.com/bluesideup. (Link is currently down as AVSIM seems to be having trouble with the files)Drop me a line at [email protected] if you are interested in one. It currently supports up to 8 encoders and can be wired directly to the 64BTN module.

aba module is like the EMDA card, but it uses a card called aba and has 4 ports for the expansion cards, the aba 64 button controllers...available from micro cockpit in europe...only allowed to use 1 aba module (no daisy chaining) and the one aba only supports 4 64 button controllers (256 switches of any sort such as toggle or pushbutton)...hopefully anyone wishing to know what an aba module can learn from this post...
