New to EPIC -- need some good examples

Featured Replies

Ok -- I took the plunge and bought the EPIC USB, Expansion Module, 32 digit display controller, 32 point output controller and an EMDA 2.0 card. Before I made the purchase, I searched around the web to see what kind of documentation/examples I could find -- with limited success -- but I thought I found enough stuff to get me going.I mounted everything in an old PC case, hooked it up and started working. I have been able to wire up a switch, have epicenter "see" it, and even get it to do some things in FSCOF. The problem I'm having now is figuring out the way things "should" be done. I see lots of different examples and some of them work for me and others don't. There seems to be not only lots of different hardware extras (Micro Cockpit's ABA module, EMDA cards, etc.) that people use, but also lots of software components (FS Communicator, FS Mapper, etc.) as well.I have a programming backround (C, C++, java, etc.) -- but I don't think I've seen enough examples to figure out which way I'm going to do things. Would anyone please share a copy of their project(s) with me? Or how about a particular site with lots of good documents? Thanks in advance,Steve

Steve:There are other on this forum that know more about EPIC than I do, but I've tried to put together a manual to give sim builders new to EPIC some food for thought. Check out my website and email me if you want my EPIC project:http://members.cox.net/martin1jam/index.htm[email protected]
