Blue Side Up has Run It's Course

Featured Replies

Hello, EveryoneIt is with sadness (and some relief!) that I am announcing the end of the BlueSideUp forum. All good things must end, and Blue Side Up has sadly run it's course. Since 1997, BSU has in some form or fashion, helped simmers around the world with building, programming, and even designing their sim projects. It has been a blast and BSU has provided a vehicle to meet some incredibly and talented people in this hobby.Although BSU is going away in an official capacity, I am still fully embroiled in this hobby, which has taken my efforts in a new and exciting direction. Many thanks to Tom Allensworth and all the staff at AVSIM for hosting the BSU forum, and for all the assistance they have provided me through the years. The AVSIM staff is truly top-notch.This forum will be removed this coming Friday, the 23rd of April.Best RegardsRay Sotkiewicz

Hi!That's really sad. I knowthis forum wasn't so popular like many others, but I think it helped many people to get started with the EPIC System. Is there any other forum where we can discuss about EPIC?regards,Steve---------------------------------------------------------------------Do you know the A320 Flightdeck Project? Steve~Thanks for the kind words. :-) I don't know of another forum where the primary topic is EPIC, but I am sure the topic may migrate to the Home Sim Builders forum here at AVSIM. I have just run out of hours in the day over the past few years, and although my interest 'appears' to have waned, it certainly hasn't. My time constraints don't permit me to fully support this forum any longer, which doesn't do anyone justice.Who knows.. if the project I'm currently working on pans out, (I am confident it will) perhaps I will re-ignite BSU in a much grander fashion.Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed this forum, even if it wasn't the most popular. That's just a natural evolution of things when the topic is highly specialized.Ray

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone here for their help in getting me started on my project using the epic. It has been a great place to bounce ideas off of others building simular projects. Thanks for starting the forum and keeping it rolling as long as it has. Your efforts are certainly appreciated here. I'd also like to thank Jam, without his help, I'd probably still be scratching my head trying to figure out where to start, seeing the guts of an ongoing project and how it was organized certainly got me started on my way.Once again, thanks everyone.Eric "RoadRunner" Taylorwww.blackoperations.comaka tango44

I m truly disappointed to hear this...I have frequently visited this forum since 1998. That fourm sure helped me succeed building my EPIC interface. Now, FSBUS has become most popular by demands which kinda put EPIC out of sight as of now. (reducing number of visitors on this forum) But we the EPIC user still know that NOTHING can BEAT EPIC itself. Thank you Mr. Sotkiewicz for establishing this forum for year long.

I'm also sorry to hear the forum is going away. One thing I liked about this hobby was finding out new techniques and then sharing them with others. Before I bought my EPIC, I came to BSU to learn about EPIC, what it could do and how to program it. I got my first EPIC project from someone I met on this site. On this site I even learned about Ralph and got the idea about writing a "How to Build a Flight Simulator with EPIC" manual. When this forum goes down, I will a piece of my past.Good luck Ray, and I hope to see all of my EPIC friends somewhere else on the net, where EPIC continues to live.JAM01
