December 17, 200223 yr Hi all, bought activesky last saturday within 5min - no problems at all - was a good start :-).installation went quick and easy - a quick test showed the correct weather enviroment (i'm leaving near LOWW). made a short testflight from LOWL to LOWW yesterday evening - LOWW reported low vis and low cloud ceiling of OVC004 - my understand was/is, that OVC004 means 400ft AGL, but when i approached LOWW, the ceiling was far below - could only see the rwy when i landed. LOWW is at 600ft and i had the impression, that the ceiling was below the airport...maybe, that was an extreme situation...will run some more tests.overall i'm impressed with this program, no stutters or any other glitches...what i'm missing are the forcast aloft winds over europe/africa/asia, but i know Damian is already working on it. great job and keep up your excellent work!cheers, harald
December 17, 200223 yr Hi Harald,I'm in the middle of a flight LOWW - Budapest.Great view : light snow - overcast layer below.now what concerns the low visibility in your question :see topic above "Visibility Question ..."hope this helps and happy flying. December 17, 200223 yr Hi Patrick, thanks for answering - already checked the vis questions and being aware of the reduced overcast visibiltiy to 3.5 mils - however, the cloud layer seemed to be below the airport or at least exactly at the airport, although reported at OVC004...though OVC004 is very low...when i was at the rwy i hardly could see anything...would have been a zero vis landing....cheers,harald
December 17, 200223 yr this has something to do with Fog conditions.latest METAR :LOWW 171620Z 16005KT 2000 -SN BR FEW004 SCT005 BKN011 M01/M02 This is what is in the doc of ASVisibility Reduction Features:Rain and Overcast Horizon Visibility reduction features also help overcome some FS2002 problems. When rain (or snow) is occurring, FS does not properly show the decreased visibility caused by such. wxRE helps here by automatically reducing the visibility for effect (when original visibility is high). Disable this option if you do not want this to occur. When a low overcast layer (2000ft AGL or less base) exists, traditionally FS will show a very ugly blue horizon band so that it looks like everywhere in the distance there are clear skies. Not exactly a great representation of attempted Regards, patrickHiFi Technologies Apha TesterFDC/PFE 3 Beta TesterAivlaSoft EFB Alpha Tester
