Active Sky, I have a question

Featured Replies

Hello HelloI just purchased ActiveSky today 30 minutes or so ago and installed, and installed again the new patch.(I use automatic updates since I have broadband)A problem; I fly in Hawaii. After lifting of in my 177 Cardinal runway 8R with a clear blue sky around the Honolulu I climb for about 30 seconds and the weather suddenly change to rain and almost fog just 30 seconds or so into the climb. Question nr 1 offcourse is what reporting stations are there in the area, and nr 2 how can they report such varied weather for such a small geographic difference in area. The weather does what it is suppose to. I naturally went out to windows to see in the ActiveSky panel if what I could see matched the METAR text, and it did, and also I could see the station had changed. When I returned to the flight an did a 180 towards Honolulu Intl. naturally at the same location weather shifted to clear CAVOK sky. Any explanations? :)ThanksMichael

As long as the METAR matched the weather in FS we know it is not a wxRE problem. To try the slow the sudden weather station changes: uncheck the "Update METAR On New Station" option. Remember that station reports are based on actual observations and measurements. Hope this helps.

How long was Active Sky running before you departed? It sometimes takes a "bit" to kick in so it might have changed if you sat a while longer on the runway. I always start it well before I go on Flight Simulator.Best Wishes,Randy J. [email protected]" A little learning is a dangerous thing"
