fs2002 activesky,how do i get it running?

Featured Replies

I need to ask a question,i have tried to install activsky on my system and cannot get it to run properly,it does show up in my sim on the menu--modules taskbar, and i can make changes to the program, the problem is that when i clear all weather, minimize my sim,and run activesky,a window pops up saying"error reading icao.txt or fswinds.txt, make sure they exist and are valid"What does this mean?Do i need to put theese files into a particular folder?By the way, they do exist, they were in the zipfile i download. What do i do?ThanxOn a non related topic, how do i get rid of the blue band of sky between ground and sky when cloud cover is set for overcast conditions? This is very annoying,as you look at the horizon, there is this blue band all around which isn't realistic at all!!fs2000 did a better job in this respect. Can i do anything about this? Thanx again

LeeHow did you install ActiveSky? It sounds to me like you've stuck it into the FS2K2 modules folder. This is not right. You should just run the auto-installer and ActiveSky will go nicely into your Program Files. It doesn't run 'in' FS2K2, it's a separate program. I am, of course, assuming that we're talking about WxRE? If not, sorry!Gavin
