December 12, 200223 yr >PLN 4 DME FIX AND DME MINIMUMS NA >:-hmmm Something to do with a fix 4 nm DME from PLN VOR Not being familiar with the approach, I would venture that there's a DME fix at 4 DME from the PLN VOR that if you can identify it, allows you to descend to an intermediate altitude before the FAF or establishes a lower MDA. What this NOTAM says is that for whatever reason, (my guess is that the DME portion of the VOR is no longer functional, though not having looked at the other NOTAMS for the region I can't be sure), you cannot use this fix, and therefore, the minimums do not apply and that even if you do have a DME equipped airplane, you must fly the approach like everybody else. Seems to me that you translated the rest of the NOTAM correctly though.-Rob
