AFCAD file confusion--Why does it sometimes mess up?

Recommended Posts

I thought I understood how to use AFCAD files. However, the last couple of times it didn't seem to work right. For example, I downloaded a file for Norman Manley airport and more recently an AFCAD file came with Michael Carr's Hank's Trading Post scenery. I import the file in AFCAD, it asks me if I want to overwrite existing file, I say "yes", save, and exit. When I attempt to go to that airport, I will sometimes find myself floating in the air and then crash (the plane, not the computer), or I'm way outside the airport completely. In the case of Manley, it showed the extra parking areas under "Go to Airport", but again, when I choose a parking aea I am transported to way outside the airport. Any suggestions?Randall

My suggestion,Reload the original airport file, then create your own afcad file to better soot the airport. There should be an original in the scenerydb folder.Other than that, I don't know exactly why that is happening. Did you try to contact the creator of the file?

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know if this was a common problem or what. I'll work with it some more.
