WxRE V1.91 Timeouts

Featured Replies

HiI know you're busy with other things, but I've not been able to download anything for the past 24 hours now for WxRE V1.91 on FS2K2 (can't afford a new computer for FS9). Keep getting the Timeout/Error message. Any help/ideas much appreciated.Best regards!Gavin

Gavin,If users post 'em we'll answer them. All our products are equally important!I just fired up wxRE and FS04 and got a solid download(1854z). Has anything changed in your Internet connection? Firewall? Anti-virus?Keep us up to date!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

JimThanks for getting back to me. I've made no changes to my firewall or anti-virus program. Norton internet security 2003. No changes have been made to my internet connection as far as I know and all sites are available as usual without any probs. I started to download again today, about 1 hour ago, and got as far as downloading Today's winds (better than the last 2 days when it just timed-out immediately) and then it just seems to get stuck. So I checked the Low bandwidth downloads box(which I've never used before) and get the same problem. I'm going to try again for the third time now, but it's now looking like 72 hrs without access. Though to be fair, maybe it'd work when I'm at work :-)Hope there's something you can do/advise.Best regards!Gavin

JimSorry about that first, unpleasant smiley-face. That was a typo. It should've been a bracket.Gavin

I am having the same problems. And I have only jusy bought ActiveSky! Perhaps i will send it back for a refund if its this unreliable.Keith

Keith,Sorry you are having trouble. I know it must be frustrating for a new user. Others can pipe in here, but usually the NOAA servers are quite reliable. In the past we have had very few outages such as this. Please keep in mind that weather processing is still taking place, and the only thing missing is winds aloft data. We all hope things will be working again soon.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Oh dear. I spoke to soon. It didn't download any winds and when I tried to run WxRE it told me to try to download again. Never seen that before. Is this a NOAA problem?Gavin

wxRE gets winds aloft data from here:http://raob.fsl.noaa.gov/Site seems to be down at the moment, guess that explains it.Miltos

Just found this on the page at NOAA about this problem"As of January 7, 2004 FSL Realtime Weather Products are temporarily unavailable. It is expected that they will return next week. ":(

GentsThanks for those replies. That seems to be the problem then. Next week eh? Well I don't pay taxes in the US so can't really complain can I?Gavin
